The testing your talking about is gas chromotagraphy/mass spectrometry.
It is very accurate and can tell within 15 nangrams, if you are using, or have used. Most state cut off levels are 50 nanograms. Because this equipment is very expensive(150-250K USD) it is usually only used if a standard urine panel test show a positve result....the panel tests are relativly simple to beat if you use some common sense...however the GC/MS are virtually unbeatable
