realistically, you could grow in 2 1/2 feet headspace using sog methods (but only 1-3 plants).

flower them when they reach about a half-foot tall and use cfl lights to keep down heat. you could look into low-growing plants (lowryder) as another route.

the smell would be dependent on its heath and strain. the bigger, juicer plants they are, the more theyll smell. but some strains are very moderate, and only detectable within several feet of the plants.
