A convenient isomorphism?
Re: the 2008 US election/Hilary Clinton.
I just watched the pilot episode of Damages, that new legal drama starring Glen Close as a lawyer seeking damages for people/screwing rich elitist scumbags. It was alright, although I don't know if I like the character played by Glen Close just yet.
It strikes me that this character could be a bit of a parody on Hilary Clinton, also a woman with a lot of power, also a lawyer, and a woman of similar age and appearance. Also someone who wants to become the first female president of the United States thus becoming the most powerful woman known to the world in modern times.
I've only seen the first episode so I don't know how the character Patty is going to develop, whether she will turn out to be the protagonist or the anti-heroine. Either way there looks like there is some scope for developing her character, and if this show turns out to be a hit it could well swing things in favour of Hilary Clinton. It ought not to, of course, but then don't forget that the majority of the electorate are gullible idiots.
It's a bit of a conspiracy theory, but in any case it is an interesting coincidence.
So what do you think, is it:
(a) McLeodGanja blows the lid on more subliminal capitalist propaganda!
or,
(b) Shut up you stupid paranoid fool!
