first grow log "condensed version"
two days ago i harvested my first indoor scrog.
it was grown in a dresser converted into a grow space by taking the drawers apart and screwing the drawer fronts onto a sheet of plywood. ths was then set on top of a base with casters on the bottom
the dimensions of the interior of the box was 43in tall,23in wide, and about 15in deep prior to installing the light
i installed the following:
mylar
two inline intake fans at base of grow space
one medium sized blower fan for exhaust
a small desk fan with swivel mount for strengthening
a sunleaves pulsar mini 250w two way lighting system
and a drain tray filled with lava rock and perlite to aid in humidity control.
the beginning:
ten seeds were soaked overnight and then germinated on paper towel. seven sprouted and were planted in a soil mixture made of the following:
sphagnum peat moss
organic compost
sand
lava rock
perlite
vermiculite
and dried super tea mixed in with the soil in the planter.
of the seven planted seeds only one grew.
the veg:
after sprouting the seedling was transplanted into a medium sized square plastic planter and watered with hormex for a week. at this time i was given another established plant from a friend and placed it in with the seedling under 250w mh for 24hrs a day. boy did they grow fast! after another two weeks the hps was screwed in and switched to 12/12 for sexing. sex was evident in about 8 days.
my seedling proved to be female and the donated plant male.
the male was destroyed and the light switched back to mh and 24/7.
the scrog:
after another 2 weeks the plant was transplanted into its final pot. it was the large size black plastic square planters.
at this time nutes were introduced to the water.
a mixture of nitrozime and bio-grow was used throughout the rest of the veg with nitrozime being omitted two weeks after scrogging began.
the screen was placed 13 inches from the light and the plant quickly filled to what i thought was about 80%.
flowering:
after a total from seedling to flower approx 8 weeks had elapsed.
the light was switched to hps and 12/12
the plant stretched like you wouldnt believe!
the internodes were tight under the mh but not when flowering started. it was at this point that my babies got too close to the light and i noticed signs of heat stress so i started using the low stress twisty tie technique. the branches were tied down to the scrog screen to create an even canopy and expose the maximum amount of nodes to light. about two weeks into flowering the weather turned cold which threw off my temps and i had a hard time getting them under control. it got down to 47 and up to 107 on individual occsions. the cold weather also dropped the humidity to about 30%
nutes for flowering were nitrozime and liquid budswel with an occasional top dressing of super tea if i noticed any signs of nute defiencicy.the soil was flushed with water for about 2 weeks prior to harvest
flowering continued for about 80 days and finally ended on tuesday.
the HARVEST !
when approx 85% of the hairs had turned and the majority of the trichromes had changed to more of an amber color i cut the plant.
i reached to just under the screen and cut the branches and carefully removed them.
it came to a total of 48 branches with popcorn buds at the screen level and colas all the way up alot of them. but the bud is stretched out. im still satisfied as alot of the branches had some weight and all were very crystally.they are now hanging from the scrog screen in the box with the light off and the fans running
i will post pics and a follow up report on what im going to do to tweak my box and total weight harvested within a week
in the meanwhile i would love to hear some curing advice.wman44 Reviewed by wman44 on . first grow log "condensed version" two days ago i harvested my first indoor scrog. it was grown in a dresser converted into a grow space by taking the drawers apart and screwing the drawer fronts onto a sheet of plywood. ths was then set on top of a base with casters on the bottom the dimensions of the interior of the box was 43in tall,23in wide, and about 15in deep prior to installing the light i installed the following: mylar two inline intake fans at base of grow space one medium sized blower fan for exhaust a Rating: 5

well i cant get my pics off my phone so yall are just gonna have to wait till i get funds for a digi cam.
anyways
i harvested 72.3 grams total from one plant!
this was way more than what i was expecting, i know it could have been better but i cant complain about over 2oz's of homegrown!
and right now its the best stuff in town.
i just obtained 3 white widow clones that will be goin into the box within a week to veg out for a mother for summertime outdoor nugs
the upgrades im making are minimal.
im gonna either try a dwc or build a shorter planter tray to bring the plant farther away from the light the next time
also ive decided to invest in a better hps bulb, the one i got is a sylvania from menards. i only paid $20 for it and i think it was a big reason why my buds are larfy. so now im researching 250w hps bulbs. if anyone has any advice regarding the bulbs id love to hear them.
thanks to the moderators and badass cultivators who helped me with this first indoor harvest!
