Put together a system that sounds best to you..... reciever, amp, speakers, etc.... Don't worry about brand, but do try to get the best you can afford and what sound best to you. It couldn't hurt to take a fav CD, DVD, or whatever with you when you go to mix/match components and speakers.

The system I have is a Pioneer 6.1 reciever(150watts/channel), Toshiba Hi-Def/Blue Ray disc player.
The main speakers are big Sansui units each with a 16" base driver, (2) 6" mids, 2x6 horn, and 2 pizio super tweets
The 2 satelite speakers are Sony 2 way bookshelf speakers
The center channel is a JBL 3 way

It sounds outstanding and will rock the house when I want to.
