    Ionizer question

    Hi there ,

i am currently setting up a closet for 4 plants.the room i have the closet is our guest room and its rarely used.its a double storey house with bedrooms on the second floor so our visitors also dont come upstairs much.however i sleep in the next room and everyone is warning me about bad smell of the plants.first timer here.

as i am in a tropical island with no walmart or amazon com access i am either going to try to make a carbon filter myself or use an ionizer.as being a lazy fcuk instead of doing shopping for hours to find the parts (remember no walmart) i prefer the ionizers.i found some models of ionizers on ebay made for cars or for people to carry around their neck for personal use (imho very stupid idea).anyway here are the questions :

-what should be the size of the ionizer to neutralize the bad smell for my closet grow of 4 plants.do you think those cheap car ionizers (they say on the auction they do produce millions of ions) will be enough for me?
-i am going to have an exhaust fan blowing directly into the room my closet is.is it better to place ionizers in the room or (since these are very small) inside the closet.

    thanks.

    Ionizer question

I have an ionizer (bout 2 and 1/2 feet tall) made by Sharper Image, I don't know if it does anything, good ventilation seems more important to me. Or a carbon filter. Those little ones are a joke, in my opinion, I wouldnt bother. I have decent exhaust, the ionizer, and the smell is ok so far, but I'm only in week 2 of flowering, so it could get worse. I've been told you need an exhuast fan going out that pumps out the entire room (closet, box whatever) in 1-3 minutes.

    Ionizer question

I've got a Sharper Image tower fan/ionizer, too. My exhaust does a fine job at eliminating odors from the grow room, so I keep the Sharper Image in my living room. One time, my wife accidentally left a whole rack of fish fillets in the oven too long, and stunk up the entire house like burnt fish. This wasn't too long after we got the tower fan, so we decided to put it to its first real test. Within an hour, the entire living room and upstairs hallway were odor free. When we adjourned upstairs for the evening, we discovered that our bedroom still had a fishy funk to it...but the rest of the house didn't!

If you're going to use one inside a grow room, I wouldn't keep it facing any of the plants. It should tame the smell of just about any sized room, but it might end up making the buds themselves smell like nothing. And that would just be weird to smoke.
