Thinking of growing 2-3 plants and need some tips
I am thinking of growing2-3 bubblegum kush plants.
I am also thinking of getting an old dresser and hollowing out the wood where the drawers go and growing in that.
Maybe like 3 feet wide and 4 foot tall.
i wans wondering if you guys had any tips like what kinda light(s) to use, light cycles from start to finish, maybe a growth timeline.
Id really appreciate any kind of information. i have never grown before so i really am... so say a noob at this and just want to grow enough to satisfy my smoking needs and a few of my friends.
and how much weed can i expect from a couple of smaller. maybe 4 ft tall plants?

a 400hps would fit perfectly in there if you have the proper ventilation

I have to kind of disagree with the post above. With a four foot high dresser, a 400w is overkill in a big way. Think of it this way...a 400w HPS puts out enough lumens for a 10 square foot area. That's an area three feet wide by three and a half feet deep. My guess is your dresser is half that deep. And you're going to get a lot more heat issues with a 400w and that costs $$ to set up and deal with.
Really, IMO, you've got four options
1) 250w HPS/MH
2) T5 fluoros
3) CFLs
4) Combination of above
First off, measure how deep (and wide) the inside part of the dresser is. I figure on a decent size plant taking at least 1.25 sq. ft. of space. If your dresser is 36" wide and, say, 18 to 20" deep...congratulations! You can get two or three plants in there, no problem.
Figure out your growing area in sq. ft.--multiple the width and depth of your cabinet in inches, and divide that by 144. (If the inside of your dresser is 36" x 20", for instance, you've got 5 sq. ft. of grow space.) Whatever you get in sq. ft., multiply it by 5000. That's the amount of lumens you'll need in flower to do a top level job.
250w HPS has around 25,000 lumens
26w CFL (100w equivalent) has around 1750 lumens
96w 2 Foot, 4 Bulb T5 has around 8000 lumens
Keep in mind that CFLs will reduce heat, but are less efficient, so you'll need more. And, like INSpectadeck says, you'll need to be sure on ventilation. So a 400w HPs will give you a ton of light, but you'll need to spend a lot more on fans and ventilation and run the risk of more heat stress. I'd go with a 250w or CFLs.

now a 400 might be a little bigger footprint than his growing space but its not impossible to do. Cooltube, vortex fan, ambient temp and heat extraction are all things that will effect the temp in the dresser. if you get that all sorted out you should be able to stick a 400 in there.:twocents:

thanks for all the help, But i might scrap the dresser idea, i found a closet in the house that has about 9 feet hight from floor to ceiling, about 6 feet long and about 2 and a half feet wide, so i think that is an optimal space, plus it is a fairly un noticable door and kinda out of the way of everything... do you think that is more optimal for growing?

my suggestion is that you read as much as you can on here. check the stickies at the top of the forums for good info. read grow logs.
