    Question: Do you guys use...

ive read its better to have a mother plant in soil. it can be easier to maintain for a longer period of time and your dwc mother can get too big on you too fast. :twocents:

    Question: Do you guys use...

I had my first mother in the same E&F system as my other plants and once it started getting big, it quickly overgrew the other plants. I think people suggest growing mothers in soil because plants don't grow as fast in soil. I ended up taking two generations of cuttings from her and then flowering her because she was so massive. It really just depends on how much room you can afford to give her. Obviously you will be able to take more cuttings from a plant that grows faster, but for convenience and space I'd say put her in soil.

You can easily do it either way, but you will need to trim the roots more in hydro. You will also want to make sure to not give the plants too much light and nutes, if you are trying to slow the plant down. You can also use clones at different points to replace your mother plant.
