It hurts to close my eye!

So I was just about to go to sleep taking out my contact. I felt like something was stuck in my left eye, i thought it would go away, like it always does.. it doesn't hurt when my eye is open
but when i close my eye and move it around its as if theres something in it. usually it goes away but this one is staying..
its causing my eyes to water up and slight stinging.
ive tried eye drops but its still there.. argh.

it aactually hurts to move my eye in one certain position when my lids are closed. i cant figure it out.

any ideas how to get rid of it?

sure you didn't scratch your cornea? i did that once, over a year ago now i believe.... and i STILL have problems with my eye.... especially when it gets dry.... it'll hurt really bad... but yeah, i scratched my cornea and for two-three days it felt like there was something in my eye, even tho there wasn't nothing there.... you gotta be sure tho.. if you're sure there's nothing in your eye, then stop messing with it as it'll make it worse.... and no, there's really nothing you can do but wait it out...

it really sucked cuz i couldn't keep my eye open in any kinda light, like i had to wear sunglasses just to post here or watch tv... but closing it hurt it more

for some reason putting a make-shift eye patch over it made it feel better.. maybe you should try it.... just get a long sock or strip of cloth and tie it on your head over your eye, doesn't have to be tight.

When I have something in my eye, I pull the top eye lid over the bottom one and move my eye around, let the eye lashes do their job.

sometimes when i leave mine in for too long and then take them out, it feels like something is irritating my eye. did you leave them in for a while?

also, when you get contacts, the edges of the contact scratch your inner eyelids and make sort of blisters..not really the blisters everyone thinks of but they produce a sort of irritated area.

call your optometrist. after all its your eyes. you might wanna keep those

Well, yeah. I wear Day/Night contacts. I started out with hard lenses, in ninth grade, then switched to soft.

I wear disposable contacts. If I get something in my eye, I throw away the one in my eye, rinse it really well, and put a new one in. If i close my eye and move my eye around a lot, it usually gets whatever is in my eye to stick to the contact and I toss it, since they are disposables.

oh might i add that i said that because my great grandmother wore hard contacts and she too has passed away.
