Very few cannabis lines can take a frost of any sort.
In New England, you should expect to harvest by the middle of October to avoid early frosts. So check the flowering time. If it is under 8 weeks, you should be just fine.

Sour Diesel in New England?
I've grown in Northern Ct for 2 years, in pots and the ground, all of my plants lasted well into november with about an inch of mulch to keep the roots warm

These last couple winters have been weird. We didn't get a frost in my part of western MA until November this year either. I think we are almost ready to be moved up to USDA zone 6, rather than 5 as we are currently. I think you guys in CT might already be zone 6.
