How long to Bubble-Clone for??
I am currently using a black bucket to bubble 8 clones, with 2 air stones in the bottom. I am wondering, 5 of the clones have about five 1 inch roots started on each of them, and I am wondering how many more days I should bubble them for??
I want to transplant them into 4 inch rockwool cubes, can anyone give me any advice?cheesypeace Reviewed by cheesypeace on . How long to Bubble-Clone for?? You transplant when your system will get them wet during pump on times. Don't know what the cubes are going into, but you could do it now, since rockwool is so easy to keep wet. In fact, too easy. Otherwise, you need to keep at least part of the roots wet at least some of the time. However that may be, doesn't really matter.
I wait until most roots are about 3 inches long then put them directly into hydroton in net pots. I'm looking for the roots extending to the bottom of the pots so they will get wet.

Oh, yeah. They should also be hardened before transplanting. They should be able to be out in open air by themselves. Either that, or you can keep tupperware, baggies or jars over them for a while after transplanting. This is harder and more dangerous.

I don't think rapid rooters are for transplanting in to. They are for starting in.
And the best way? The best way would be to not use rockwool, but other than that, just stick em in the middle.

Hi there im replying to a question you had about early sexing the post was closed so I will reply here i am only starting my first grow next week as u have ive done a ton off research and ive read if you cover 1 branch off a plant maybe with light blocking paper and then put the cover on and off on a 12 on 12 off period you can then tell if its male or female i will check through my favourites to find the info for you and get back to yah.

RLY SEXING
It is possible to tell the sex of a plant early, and thus move male plants out of the main growing area sooner by covering a plant is lower branch for 12 hours a day while it is in a constant light vegetative state. Use a black paper bag or equivalent to allow for air flow while keeping out light. Be sure to set up a regular cycle for these covered branches. If light is allowed to reach them during the dark period, they may not indicate early at all.
Use a magnifying glass to look at the early flowers sex type. A male plant will have a small club (playing card) looking preflower with a small stem under it. A female flower is usually a single or double pistil, white and wispy, emerging from an immature calyx.
Some people like to pre-force plants when they are 8" tall, in order to weed out the males. When growing outdoors, many growers do not wish to devote time, space or energy to male plants. Just put the plants on a 12 hours light cycle for 2 weeks, separate the females from the males, then revert the light cycle back to 18-24 hours to continue vegatative growth for the females. Keep in mind, this is a time consuming process and can put the plants back 2 weeks in growth. Do not pre-force plants unless you have lots of time. Just cover one branch per plant with black paper (light tight, breaths air) 12 hours every day under constant light to force pre-flowers and differentiate early.

I've had 100% success presexing. It is waaaaayyyy easier than all that other stuff. Gently peel open the little pod that grows by the branch on the main stem. Look at it with a magnifying glass. Balls = male. Hairs = female. You can do this after about the 5th node, depending on variety. No reverting, no paper bags, no light schedules, works every time.
