My new HPS *FREE*

Yup as titled. A friend of mine works for his dads company and they do city electrical work. They have about four dozen old street lights laying in their garbage pile. He took a look one day and saw that they were 400W HPS lights. So tonight we went and brought back home one and I wired it to a regular outlet and wired it so it doesnt use the daytime sensor. Walla! I couldnt believe it, my first HPS light, and it cost me nothing! Heh, im just so happy I dont have to use those mercury vapor lights now. I have one of my little babies being tested with the light in the pics. The other pics are some pics of the street lamp. Soo what do ya think?

Oh btw and I have reflectors for these as well, just havent installed or used them yet. Also the plant can be close to the light because thats in my wine cellar, and it has a vent going outside, so the room is a cool temperature and the ballast is seperated.

I thought i saw some MH lights there too, I might get ahold of one of them if I can find the right ballast in the yard with it.

lucky you, now dont kill the plant, that light is way too close to the plant.
and just check the volts of it 120 or 240?.

steeling is bad, steeling to grow illegal plants isnt just bad, but about the dummest thing you could do.

yeah I was gonna post how bad I felt when I read about theft, but I didn't want to be a loner. so now I can be a follower.

I believe this whole forum needs to be moralized. other psychotropics really freaks me out, especially that crack forum.

nice lamp, just talked to somone u used to grow and they may lend me their lamp. they might wanna grow poppy also. never tried opium and I'm not really loooking to right now though. but their lamp will make my 150 watt commercial incandascent grow light look like a little piece of crap.

llamaman i absolutely agree with you, this is the cannabis culture wich means peace to all around, no steeling and not doing harm to others... we all grow to make preassure for legalisation everywhere.
plus im almost sure that lamp is a 220 volts street light lamp, if you are not sure about the voltage you shoudnt be doing that, you can cause a fire easyly...
