How's it Going. Clearly I am a Newbie to this site. I am a 35 Year old Male and spent 33 Years in L.A. I worked in the Entertainment industry until the "HARD LIFE" got to me. I came up to the Monterey area in Summer 2005 to get my head straight and never went back..LOL. I am 2 1/2 Years Sober from HARD Drugs. But I drink and Smoke

Moved in with a Co-Worker in Santa Cruz in Nov 2007.
I've Grown off and on for almost 18 years...and am Trying to get back into what I used to Love as a Hobby and was Very Good At.

I Had Major Back Surgery in September but cannot take Pain Killers since Vicodins were my Addiction back in L.A. (I took 75 Vikes a day for about 4 years uuggghhh!!!)......I had essentially Quit Weed and was only using Hard shit, which Destroyed my Life,My Relationship of 7 years, my Financial situation..It was a Disaster......

My Ex who I am still madly in Love with still lives in So. Cal and Has had a Medical Card for 3 Years due to a Severe Neck injury...But I do not know where or what when it comes to where to go up here....Doctor Wise and Especially since I plan on Providing myself with my own medicine...I know little about Dispensaries except for her Experiences in L.A.????
Can I Get Clones with Proper Medical Identification????
Etc..etc..

Plus I hear the Laws are always Changing...It never mattered to me in the Past but I wanna do it right ya know...I was arrested for Felony Cultivation in 2000 but it was Personal use only...I have not Grown since...

Long Intro, But I am Glad to be a Member and gotta Search the site more. But any quick tips on the above questions/Statements would be Awesome..

First off, you gotta get yourself "California legal". NORML's web site for California has a list of "cannabis friendly" doctors. Get a copy of your medical records, the money needed and make that appointment! Since you have legit medical problems, it will be easy as getting a check up!

I have no experience with the clubs. Our county's only one was busted well over a year ago. From what I understand, you may need to get a card from your county to get into most of them, but a few will honor just a doctor's written recommendation with phone verification- so go during your doctor's hours. I don't have a card because (A) my county is still only planning to offer them (they say this year, sometime), and (B) this is one heck of a corrupt system here and I'm staying off the radar! To be legal, however, all that is required is the doctor's letter.

I would suggest continuing to act as if you are "illegal". Don't tell folks about your grow, don't toke in public, etc. Home invasions to steal cannabis are becoming more frequent.

Since you use medically, I would suggest two things, first, click the link in my sig. It will take you to a fair sized list of medical cannabis studies and their URLs. It makes interesting reading. Second, you might like treatingyourself.com . It's a friendly little Canadian MMJ site- lots of good folks who have "been there".
