it was/is however thought chronic use of dxm does cause holes in the brain which are actually called olneys lessions, they have been shown to appear in lab rats who were given large amounts of dissacociatives, but there has never been a case found to occur in humans. in fact the person who originally wrote an artical about over use of dxm causes brain lessions later retracted what he wrote due to lack of sufficient evidence and admitted he wrote it to discourage chronic dxm use, here it is

No no no, sorry. lol It was sarcasm. Sarcasm doesn't travel well with typed words, does it?

    But, damn, dude, olneys lessions.

    Help with DXM

Use Robitussin Cough, or Vicks 44 green bottle. Either way, look on the back of the box for the active ingredients, and make sure Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is the ONLY active ingredient.

Avoid any cough preparation which contains one of the following.

    1) Pseudoephedrine - A synthetic version of Ephedrine. It's used as a decongestant, and is a stimulant. With high doses, it can cause panic attacks, or fast heart rate.

    2) Guaifenesin - An 'expectorant'. Makes coughs more 'productive', meaning you'll cough up flem or some shit. It's an oily substance. Guaifenesin in high doses causes a lot of nausea, and will make most people throw up.

    3) Acetiminophen - For pain relief. In Europe, it's known as Paracetamol. High doses can cause liver failure, and death.

Remember, avoid ANY cough preparations containing any of these, or ANYTHING but Dextromethorphan (DXM). NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USES CORICIDIN FOR RECREATIONAL USE. DXM is a pretty safe drug when used responsibly, and with reasonable frequency (No more than once or twice a month. Any more, and you're at risk for Olney's Lesions, tiny holes in your brain caused by using drugs such as DXM, PCP, or Ketamine. Not to mention gaining a quick and long lasting tolerance, thus making DXM use boring.) One bottle of Robitussin Cough or Vicks 44 should be perfect for a first trip. Btw, 600-700 mgs would probably put you right at a third-plateau dose, which isn't good for first time use, since the effects of DXM at such a high dose can be very scary, and induce panic attacks for a beginner. Make sure you are pretty familiar with DXM before attempting to reach any plateau higher than second.

    Have fun, and stay safe.
