    ALL CFL- RUBBERMAID GROW

:thumbsup:Hey Green!!!! What I did to resolve my heat issues was a very simple step. Instead of making a larger whole ( 11'') I decided to keep a small fan on top about 4 1/2'' and i added two pc fans about (4'') round on each side of the lighting portion of the box. I have one set as n intake bringing in cooler air across the lights and I have the other on the opposite end for outake so that there is a stream of cooler air always blowing across the lights. The small desktop fan I have on top is always pulling the warm air from the lights right out of the box. Iknow that sounds confusing but it brought my temps from 90 degrees or so down to a very consistant 65 -70 degrees all day, and thats powering it 24/24 for 3 weeks now!

Hey Smoke, It's been about 3 weeks since my last post of my plants. Now im fighting the issue of some sort of defiency ( i think) here are some pics just taken of my babes. Im getting yellow leafs and curling. But I still get the new growth. Im kinda confused. From what I have read this means there are too many nutes or some sort of defiency im not aware of. Anyways.... you guys take a look and shoot me some feedback on what YOU guys think this may be...

Hey green I jus tlooked at your setup. Nice build up. My concerns... that fan on top is wayyyy to smaill. the temps in that box gets up there pretty quick. I would put thatpc fan on the sides and put a larger fan on top. Thats what I did and it took temps down dramatically!!!

Also, I have my plants sitting up higher closer to the lights. I did that because I didnt want streching of my plants. Other than that I think it looks good so far. Keep us posted on pics!!!

could be either potassium, zinc, or sulfur.

marijuana bible suggests those . . . look at your nutes. . those are the ones showing yellowing at the edges/ brighter green leaves followed by the dark brown/red edges that are curled and look burnt. You might as well clip those brown parts off they be dead Im sure. :P

but the curling leaves suggest the fertilizer is too strong, or the plant is sensitive to it . . .

What is your pH right now? remember... 6.0-6.5 = happy pot plant imp:

 Ok Im back with some new pics of my grow. I have cut down from 13 plants to one that has proven to be the strongest of the group. the rest I have removed and put into a seperate box. below you will find the links to the pics. Take a look at them and tell me what you think.

This all looks great! And I'm impressed by the simplicity and design of the stacked Rubbermaids. I have a couple questions though...

Has anyone tried this (more expensive) option:
    Rubbermaid Vertical Shed : Target
(if that link does not work, google: Rubbermaid-Vertical-Shed)

It's 72Hx30Wx25D" so the pains of training the plants would be at a minimum. I would take issue with cutting this thick plastic, ventilation, and the lights would have to be hung on the inside to be adjustable. These seem like small issues that could easily be overcome. I think the CFL lights are great and one could easily make a bank of lights from 2 of these same light strips (6 lights total) and attached to a thin square of wood to float above the plants. Perhaps a shorter version of this shed would be ideal - Suncast Balcony Box : Target

    Also...

I first learned of this technique on this forum from Bodom Children Of. But one of the posts mentioned the passive intake and someone asked, "How are you keeping light from disturbing the dark period during flowering with that fan like that?" I have the same question. Why bother making a bend in the PVC if you have a hole at the top of the box? If the sun comes through the windows in your grow area (like at 7am), how do you control the light during flowering? I assume that this minimal light entering the fan-hole does not affect the plants throwing buds? ...Or else everyone would have posted about it. Has anyone had trouble with this?

Nice work SDD! I've been reading up on the rubbermaid stuff. Gonna go pick up my materials next weekend to start with my tub grow. Thanks for posting your progress because it really helps us new guys. I'm going to start off with the tubs and see how far I get and hopefully move to a cabinet when I get some experience under my belt.

Mackey, I've looked at the rubbermaid sheds but I'm planning on using a rubbermaid cabinet in the future. Take a look: http://boards.cannabis.com/closet-ca...maid-idea.html

So far the tub idea looks to be the most economical to get started with and theres a lot of good information and results on this board.

imp:imp: I am back with some weird ass news. My plant is starting to look like it's already budding???

But, first. To pay credit where it is due, Mackey! :rasta:Thanks for view. Yes, That's where I started my rubbermaid. It was from BODOM. He rocks! All I did to stop the light in mine, is a thick panty hoes:stoned: I put a painr directly over the hole where my fan is at and for some reason this really works.:rasta: This is is in a room where people are always in and out. Therefore I always have some type of light on my plants. Until I tried this crazy ass idea.lol:rastasmoke: And it works. Check out the pics of my current grow and you will see what Im talking about. I'll post some pics when I get home!

The reason im trippin out on this is beacuse my plants are only 4 months old. I thought it took just a little longer than that. I will post the pics of thses crazy "buds" comning out of this thing.:wtf:
