    question about flowering

Ive got four afghani and two northern lights in veg right now. i germinated and planted all at the same time but half of the NL never sprouted so i had to germinate more, which took about two weeks. point is ive got three that are a little more than a foot tall and three that are only 6-8 inches tall. the tall ones will be ready for flowering in about a month but i dont think the others will. will it affect yield/potency to keep em in veg until the others are ready? the ghani have also been considerably slower than the NL as far as vertical growth but the are alot more bushy. theyre are on 18/6 with 1000 wt hps. trying to get pictures up but my usb from my camera isnt working. any advice or experience would be appreciated.

    question about flowering

Indoors, aim for bushy over tall.
HPS (red light) will help add to stretch and isn't idea for veg. Try sticking your plants under tube flouro 'cool white' shop lights and tying them down so that the canopy is even, continuous, and not very deep, and less than 3" from the lights. It's fine to keep them in veg like that until you are good and ready.

    question about flowering

height isnt really a factor theres still a good 9 feet until the ceiling and just by looking at them i can tell it wont be a problem. i did get the hps/mh switchable ballast but didnt have the extra money to drop on the mh bulb after i got all the nutes and fans and surge protector and everything else. you know much about the terra vega and cannes fertilizer? it seems amazing, i think i waited about a week to long to start introducing nutes so they were a small bit nitrogen deficient but three days after using that terra vega they look healthier than ever. anyways thanks for the advice.

    question about flowering

The point isn't necessarily how much SPACE you've got, but the ability of your lights to penetrate into the canopy.
A tall plant under lights isn't efficient, because the lights can only reach a few inches into the plant, and the rest of the plant just sits there taking up space.

The Canna nutes are beautiful and very forgiving. I run them in my hydro system, on *gasp* CITY WATER!!! hahaha. How great is that. Never tried the Terra series but judging by the quality that I've seen I'm sure it's good.

good point about the light penetration I never really took that into account. Yea I've been using city water too but I try to let it sit out for about eight hours before watering to get rid of some of the chlorine. I do have two four foot 80 watt flourecents I picked up, you think it would be worth setting those up underneath the plants pointed up at the undergrowth to get some light on the leaves at the nodes?

Under the plants isn't all that desirable, but standing them up in the corners of the grow box is a good way to add light, or hanging them down alongside but slightly above the plant angled towards it.

depending on your space, try bending the older ones.

perfect your germination methods (90% is goal).

flush with distilled water once a month if persist in using municipal water, and use a final flush justb4 harvest.

a good RO purifier will pay for itself in the long haul. just because it is capable of doing 100 gallons a day, doesn't mean you have to run that much. hook one up to your sink, and drink it and wash face in it, awesome bonus!

    question about flowering

i had 100 percent germination rate, but once i put them into the soil they didnt sprout, anyways thats not a problem anymore, they look great, though one of my northern lights has been doing some funny shit with 2 or 3 of the big fan leaves. ill come home from work or what not and every once in a while two of the leaves will be tilted from like 60 to 90 degrees so that neither top or bottom is really showing, i actually decided to post this because i checked on em like 40 minutes ago and they were normal and i just checked on em now and the leaves on the one were completely vertical. the leaves are a great green and its the healthiest and youngest out of the bunch. any ideas?
