Newbie question about smoking glass bowls...

I have smoked several occasions before but always someone elses piece. I just bought a glass bowl. My experienced buddy packed it for me and when I took the first took I inhaled quite a bit of either ash or weed particles. I have never experienced that before. After a few more tokes it wasn't so bad. Is there a breaking in period for glass bowls or do sometimes just inhale solid pieces? I feel really pathetic asking but I just want to know...

is there a screen in it? if not that would help, or when u bust up the weed for the bowl pick a ball larger than the hole to put in first, then pack on top. since the bowls new you shouldnt have to hit it hard, just nice and easy

Just put a larger nug over the hole. Will be fine afterwards. Same thing happened to me:jointsmile:

Yea it happens with a new bowl. But also happens anyway. If you put keef sized particles theres not much stoppin it =p. But later resin will make some particles stick to it.

just grab a bigger nug and throw that at the bottom, then throw your ground up stuff on top. once u smoke out of it enough it will build up some resin and get stickier and hold the weed alot better :rastasmoke:

its gonna have to get pretty dirty before it stops, which is fine bc if its a color changer thats the only way it will change

yea that happens with a new bowl.
just smoke it more and it will get better.
and if its still really bothering you you could always just put a screen in.imp:
