I do home health care also, Hilder. I have this one client( I have 3 right now) who is very tough on some girls, and they quit or she fires them. Sometimes she wont even let them back in the house. She's a tough old bird and I adore her! She doesn't trust anyone and thinks everyone wants her money. She has a tracheotomy & a pace maker, and nothing is funnier to me then when she gets upset at someone(It could be anyone- the electric company, a neighbor, a caregiver)and her finger starts flapping on her trach as she's yelling, having to stop every few sentences for a deep breath. I try to calm her down, but she has a very sound mind, and proceeds to tell me off. She says she has spoke her mind for 86 years and "we" aren't going to silence her now!
Yeah... she's awesome. We get along great. I have a soft spot for grumpy, stubborn, cantankerous old people.

Another of old lady's caregivers quit last thusday.. In the year and 4 months Ive been here, we have gone through 7 people. technically 8 cause one girl came back and quit again.. I have had to come back in the middle of the night, a few hours after leaving, had to stay a couple of weeks in a row without any days off, then when I did, it was only for two days.. full 48 hours. I havent once quit, or Rating: 5
