Alot of religious people try to teach others their beliefs, i assume, because they want others to share in something they think is good.. alot of non-religious people (like myself) try and argue against religion because they, or we, want everyone to live their life how they want to live it, not how a religion wants them to live it.. its a win-win and lose-lose situation at the same time.. both sides are happy with their beliefs, but both sides want others to share in their happiness..

i get insulted for being atheist/agnostic all the time.. the insult most commonly used towards me is 'sinner'.

but if they are christians then they call themselves sinners too or they aint.

I dont know. The people who DO believe in God never insult or making hundrends of threads on why you should believe in God, but the people who don't believe in God are CONSTANTLY posting about how there isnt any evidence of a God or that having faith is ignorant, which pissed me off. You guys says you dont want God stuffed down you're throat. Well us, the people who do believe in God dont want reasons why there isnt a God. Simply we dont want it stuffed down our throats. I am getting sick of posting why I believe in God, only to be called ignorant or something. Fact is that as on Now there is NO evidence of the creationism theory or the Evolution Theory. Believe what you want to believe people, just don't throw insults around

Growing up as a child i was constantly subjected to christian dogma against my will. Everywhere i turned there would be somebody trying to FORCE me into a belief system that didnt quite fit. I am used to seeing other people's beliefs flagged and shoved and generally made into candy for the masses to eat, but that doesnt mean i need to complain about it. Everyone thinks they are right, and they dont mind telling you so, so you should just learn to grow a diamond skin of immunity to petty insults, because all they really consist of are letters formed into lines that really mean nothing at all, why do you care what this faceless person says about your belief system? Their noise ultimately hurts them more than it does you because it alienates them, just sit back and enjoy the show.

I love this forum. It's my favborite place to look up things and get ideas from. I've cut back in my posting because no matter what thread I post in there's someone always trying to insult me or make a wise crack about my faith. I did what I came to do here and handled the insults as best as my mood would allow. So now when people start to insult me and my faith I just avoid it cause it truly isn't worth the time. People like that most of the time don't even know why they hate people of faith. I know one day they will look back at it and think "What an ass I was" but until then screw it. Mature people know who the Bigger Man or Women are. Not to mention it really only makes them look bad not people of faith and tolerance.
