This thanksgiving my family reinstated the annual game of RISK after an absence of almost 10 years. The game had to be banned after an incident involving the roll of 6 consecutive defensive boxcars (the number of consecutive roles may have increased over the years, much like the weight of a fish) The board was then thrown down a flight of stairs under an explosion of curses. The aunts then got together and decided that from then on the game of RISK was not to be played at family functions. Luckily it just so happened that this thanksgiving a distant cousin joined us. He had feared extreme boredom but his father had assured him that RISK was a tradition and that he would surely have hours a time occupied playing the game. So after a decade of banishment RISK made its way back. This time there were no fights but I cant say next year will run so smooth.
