Is this normal?

Hello; Is it normal for your light to take ten minutes or so to kick on? The ballast kicks on then it takes like ten minutes or so for the light to kick on. Then it starts brighten up good.This is my first indoor light so i'm new at this. Iknow it says on the box will take a few minutes is ten minutes considered a few?

Hello there. Yes that its perfectly normal, I have 1 x 150 watt and 1 x 250 watt and both take around 5 - 10 minutes to warm up. The 150 watt seems to warm up more fast than the 250 watt. Anyways, happy growing.

yeah its normal, and somtimes it takes longer once youve had it for a while. it just means the bulb is getting older. The bulb has about 1 year life when using to grow pot. Some have longer than others.

I was a little concerned at first because the timer would kick on at 7:05am and it would be like 7:20 before the light actually came on and started to brighten up. It's the same time every morning no earlier or no later...it just has a dim glow to it for the first 20 minutes and then POOF! it kicks on and gets bright.
