I would push to say I would agree that a "smack" not "smacking" is potentially in order, depending on the situation. I think you could portray your anger and show them your very , rather than releasing it upon them.

true very true, but i am refering to after all this....explaining to the child ...reaosning with the child.........after all that might work might not work phycology(sp?) at the end of the day the kid does something bad he/she gets a smack....he/she wouldnt do it again would they?
