TimerSo I bought a cheap timer, and its making me feel like an idiot. It has 96 pins on it. Pins up is on, pins down is off. Its suposed to be setup for daily timers, but isnt there 168 hours in a week? Im not sure on how to set it up for 12 on 12 off, for everyday. i figured maybe it went for every 2 hours instead of one, but that still doesnt work mathmattically...help...

Timereach pin is 15 mins of time (24 hours, 4 15 mins in an hour, 24*4=96)

are you sure its not daily (singular) rather than daily (plural?)

TimerI'd take it back and get a digital timer. Brinks makes a digital timer for $9 at Wal Mart that is perfect for just one on/off cycle. I like my 12/12 to be more accurate than I can get with a mechanical timer. I could just never line it up right so that it was exactly 12; it was always off by like 10 minutes or so.

TimerToo late to take it back

Anyways it has all 7 days and above each day iit has 2,4,6,8,10,12 twice, one set is shaded the other isnt.
Then it has the 96 pins around the whole thing, and they really do not match up to the numbers. The instuctions say twist until you have it on your day and time, then set the pins, thats it. Never tells you how much time the pins mean, or how to tell which pin is for what time of the day specifically.

TimerWell, you got the wrong timer and you really should take it back and get a different one. You don't need seven days, you need one recurring 24 hour time period. I would take it back and get the right timer or you will be kicking yourself later when you plants are herming from photoperiod shock.

TimerFor crying out loud, you're growing something that's damn near worth it's weight in gold. Go to Lowe's and spend $15 on an Intermatic digital timer and quit bellyaching and dicking around with something that isn't going to work. Hang that timer on the wall to remind yourself not to waste money on shit equipment. You'll find it's a very inexpensive education.
