I feel like an idiot...
Heres my plant. I dont know why, but the lil guy just wont grow. Its been two weeks but nothing. I've been keeping the soil moist and not watering till it becomes dry again but still, nada.

i think you are going to have alot of people posting back on this one. i'm not an expert myself, but i DO know that you do NOT water everyday in soil you want the soil to actually dry to where the bottom of the pot is moist so the roots feel like they have to grow. you are babying them too much so they don't feel like growing..... and in my opinion, it looks like too big of a pot for a seedling.. you also want 24 hours of light, keep it warm to about 80 degrees. so STOP watering for a couple days and give 'her' some good light. what kind of lights are you using? floros are good for now.

what is the climate like where you are at? it may be better to keep it under the bulb all day

I'm using a "75w Duro-Lite 120-135v Plant lite" Bulb.
What you said makes complete sense. I'll definately cut out the watering for a few days.
Thanks for your time =)
Edit- I just moved to Iowa. Theres a little snow but not much and its been generally cloudless for the past week. Reasonably moist out as well (at least compared to Arizona)

yes my opinion is that it would be best to not take it outside and keep it under your bulb. also may want to invest in some flourescent lights. cool white is good. actually i'm not a pro at lighting, but i think the wattage you are using is also a bit low. hope someone else comes in here and can help you out a bit...or you can start a new thread with the title asking about lighting and that should help you out in getting some better answers. take care

i am not an expert either,
A: your light for this stage is ok
B: it seems that you water the whole of the pot
C: it's ok the size of the pot.....don't think it matters so much....at least you will not have to transplant....the plants i grow have been from the beggining into 2 gallon buckets and now, after 4 weeks into veg they are over a foot tall
D: i agree with kuri....leave it unwatered (so the pot dries)put your finger in it to sense the moisture.....water only if top 2 inches are completely dry...... 24/7 under the light but not too close to the plant (put your hand in between to sense the heat nad adjust the distance when it is comfortable), you don't want to burn it, after a few days you will see some growth...
E: do not water the entire pot....it is not nessesary as the plant is very young and does not have grown so much root yet.....
F: to understand better what we mean, the plant will search for water by itself and therefore will grow as a result!

ps...ideal temperatures max =86 min=62.....any more than 86 will cause trouble(burns) any less than 62 will cause no growth....do not move it around....leave it in one place, that's under the bulb!
