SOME WATER WITH YOUR WHINE?

Robertson might as well have suggested that I, personally, be stoned to death. The irony, of course, is that I am still not a "believer." Until there is scientific proof, I don't see why we should burden ourselves with beliefs about anything.

LET THE WHINING BEGIN.

In addition, the eerie ad hominem attacks have extended onto the internet, with a Mr. Black of whom nobody has ever heard demanding that I release results of my lie detector tests, something that I did ten years ago, as documented in Ed Conroy's book Report on Communion. Although this man claims to be a UFO researcher of 30 years standing, I can't seem to find any publications credited to him, nor any other researchers who know him. In addition, he seems singularly uninformed about my credibility and credentials.

"....MY THRILLING LIFE" OF WIELDING GOD LIKE DOWNLOADING POWER CAME TO AN END AND KRAUSE'S LOUSE RAN BACK TO TEXAS, HOME OF STRUGHOLD'S AVRO ARROW.

It had been twenty months since my last encounter. When we lost our cabin in upstate New York, my thrilling life of weekly and even daily encounters ended. In the years in the little condo in Texas-- hard years of poverty and struggling to make ends meet-- I had only two encounters. For the whole first year, I would meditate night after night. I grew angry, I became bereft. I would wake myself and my wife up crying in my sleep.

Then I pulled myself together and went on with my work. I have understood that I am a soldier in a fearsome war, the war for the human soul. Because I am on the side of the good and the free, it is my destiny to be despised, persecuted and hated. But every brutal act against me is actually a medal of honor pinned to my chest. Realizing this, understanding it, has made me also understand why one of the visitors once called me "the luckiest of the lucky."

ISN'T THAT THE OWNER OF A CASINO?

HE PULLED HIMSELF TOGETHER - WHILE PRESUMABLY A "LEGION OF NUTS" ALSO DID SO IN SPITE OF "GREATLY DIMINISHED LIVES".

It seems more like the Whitleys had "nutters" coming out of the woodwork, after Communion was published and the movie was broadcast, and it didn't abate.

Celebrity is hard to handle, at the best of times. Don't think WS ever wanted to be a "guru" to millions, (as his horror of "heaven's gate" cult pointed out.)
He was a guy with some weird experiences, that decided to put into a literary context. He did research on many levels to try and discover who, what and why he was involved.

Whether or not they were real to anyone else, they were real for him and as his popularity grew, so did his critics.

It's a fine line to dance, when there is such high name-recognition. Plus various family illnesses that may or may not have been triggered by all the hoopla, it's tough to handle.

As many actors, politicians, rich and famous or public servants will attest, life changes after the media blitz.

"from "The Communion Letter"
Whitley Strieber's cover letter from the Spring Issue, 1991; Volume 3, No. 1.
Dear Reader:
I would like to thank you for your patronage of the Communion Letter. Your subscription ends with this issue, and we are not taking new subscriptions or renewals. A list of available back issues is printed on the reverse of this letter for those who may be interested in collecting.
I had always intended to run the newsletter about two years, and that amount of time has now passed. During this period the Communion Letter has gained a large circulation and, I believe, published some remarkable articles.
But all good things must come to an end. I am not a UFO researcher and do not wish to endure the continued media attack that is associated with being involved in this field. In addition, the so-called "UFO-ologists" are probably the cruellest, nastiest and craziest people I have ever encountered. Their interpretation of the visitor experience is rubbish from beginning to end. The "abduction reports" that they generate are not real. They are artifacts of hypnosis and cultural conditioning.
What we are experiencing is a perceptual anomaly that is sufficiently ambiguous and intense that it demands explanation. It is something that human beings have been experiencing for a long time. It is the cause of religion, of mythology, of folklore. Presently it is the cause of the "alien abduction" belief.
What is *really* behind our experiences? We are. This is a human thing. However, I would also say that it indicates that we--and our world--are vastly different, and far more strange, than we have ever dreamed, or dared imagine.
With that I leave you.

BUT HE HASN'T LEFT US - HE'S DOMINATING THE FIELD OF UFOLOGY WITH THE TACT QUOTED ABOVE.

I have been receiving calls from various people, primarily the leaders of different local MUFON groups, asking me why I have said one nasty thing or another about them. One MUFON was concerned that I had been saying that their group "channeled." Another was upset that I had claimed that their group was a nest of "true believers."

THERE ARE SOLDIERS WHO MAKE WHILTERY WHINE, NOT ONLY CHRISTIANS AND NUTS.

AN ARMY THAT'S BEEN ASSAULTED AND DOWNLOADED, THEN MALIGNED AND SILENCED BY POMPOUS GUY WHO COMPLAINS ABOUT MISINFORMATION WHILE CONDUCTING IT.

As I prepared to speak, I looked around at my audience. A number of them were in Air Force uniform. The others were all in civilian clothes. I did not see any uniformed Army or Navy personnel. Two of these Air Force officers, a man and a woman, sat on a couch directly in front of me. They glared at me with fixed expressions of hate. When I began to speak, they ostentatiously picked up newspapers and read them in my face.

At the back of the small crowd, three more uniformed Air Force personnel stood alternately listening and chatting among themselves. I could not tell their mood. But the two directly in front of me never softened their expressions in any way. In fact, they looked almost paralyzed with hate. In my memory of six author tours on the UFO subject, I do not recall seeing such expressions on any other faces. To my eye, they were not sane expressions. Frankly, they were frightening. I don't see why Air Force personnel would hate me. My book Majestic lays the blame for the cover-up at the feet of the intelligence community, not the Air Force. In general, my books do not attack the military.

Could it be that they were fundamentalists? Lately, some fundamentalist leaders have been making statements to the effect that people who believe in aliens should be stoned to death. Maybe that's what brought this hatred out.

"COULD IT BE THAT THEY ARE FUNDAMENTALISTS?" OF COURSE IT WOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SOLDIER WHO WAS ASSAULTED AT WHILTERY'S CABIN WHILE DUBBIEDO WAS PRESENT..

IT MUST BE DUE TO THEIR BEING VULNERABLE TO MACHIAVELLIAN POLITICAL MANIPULATION OF THEIR FAITH.

OR AS WS SUGGESTS IT IS THE FAULT OF "REDEEMER RELIGIONS"

WHITLERY STRIEBER CLAIMS TO REMEMBER ALL OF HIS PAST LIVES, ONE OF WHICH WAS SPENT AS AN INQUISITOR.

IF THE GLYPH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INQUISITION, WHAT NEED HAS INQUISITOR OF THE GLYPH?
