My light didnt turn on this morning

my metal halide conversion didnt turn on this morning ive only had for about 3 weeks its glowing a little but it wont fully turn on. is this normal has it happened to any one else before.

I know HPS arc tubes will still flicker and glow shortly after the bulb has expired, as I experienced this not too long ago. I thought that Halide bulbs were supposed to go out altogether at the end of their lives, but I've yet to see one burn out. But since it a conversion bulb, maybe it would still react like an HPS that's prematurely burned out.

Buy another bulb, hopefully that'll fix it. If not, it could be any range of things. Good luck! :thumbsup:

thanks, when i first got it it took a while to start up and was acting the same way it is now, except now its been on all day and wont fully come on. I havnt done any thing to it. ive had it setup the same way for the past three weeks. its hook up to a surge protector thats hooked to a timer.
my plants arnt liking not getting any light.

i have problems like that when my bulb is hot and i try to start it up again,and my ballast and bulb buzz too,this may sound odd but i just give the reflector a few little taps and it goes back to full light

i just went to the hydro store and they said it went bad so they gave me a replacement for free
