germinating
No, in nature when a seed is germinating under the dirt, the seed doesn't use light. The germination process requires no light what so ever. When seed produces it's first set of embryotic leaves (cotyledon), then you may put them under lighting. Doing so earlier than that could cause a small percentage chance of making the plant become hermiphrodic.
