Using only chemicals
I want to try smaller nozzles. Ones that actually mist like they are supposed to instead of spraying. I'd like to switch without spending a bunch of money on triple filtration and bigger pumps, and I figure one way I can do that is by making sure there are no chunks whatsoever in my nutrients. I don't give a rat's ass about being organic. If I did, I wouldn't be intentionally putting smoke and crap into my lungs. Also, there's always flushing, which gets rid of the chemicals.
I just switched to a chemical veg food and my plants seem to love it (SuperNatural). No more N deficiency either. So I want to turn to the really really dark side. Can anyone make any recommendations? Something that would replace SuperThrive, Liquid Karma, CalMag, and Fox Farm Grow Big and Tiger Bloom? I've heard good things about Fox Farm's 3 part bud enhancers so I've already got those and am going to 12/12 tomorrow. (Open Sesame, Cha Ching, and Beastie Blooms). The SuperNatural budding food seems a little hight in N too me. 14-8-19 Fearless Gardener
Whadda y'all think about that?
I guess it doesn't have to be 100% non organic, as long as it will dissolve 100% in water.Opie Yutts Reviewed by Opie Yutts on . Using only chemicals I want to try smaller nozzles. I was doing a little reading on Super Natural. Is it the Gro Terra 20-20-20 that you're using?
My Fox Farm solution is 3-2-6...why such a difference?

No. It's 17-7-18. More N. My plants seem to like it very much. This one: Fearless Gardener

Opie - CNS17. It is a complete one-part nutrient. Comes in Grow and Bloom. I read some real good things about CNS17 over on ICMag, from a number of people who were using it for successful, and successive, grows.
the ratios are off the hook...
@ 10 per liter its
Bloom: N267, P 104, K 468, CA 197 Mg 84, S 111, Fe 5.0
I just bought a ONE GALLON jug of CNS17 Grow for $25. (Max dosage per label is 40ml/4l, so a gallon will last a long time.) The Bloom is the same price. This will replace the CalMag+, LK (very hard on the jets) ... everything!
I'm setting up two new scrogs right now and I'm going to upgrade my watering system too. Last grow the LK was clogging up my drip heads. Even though I don't plan to use LK this grow, ya' never know when plans may change, so I want to install an in-line filter. Have you been using an in-line filter? Any suggestions about a brand/model? I'm flooding my coco pots when I water and my drip heads are the 1/2" screw-on kind like you would use for outdoor sprinklers - so I don't need super good filtration. But, I do want to get the big stuff and the gunk out.

PC, thanks a bunch for the info. Weird. CNS17 isn't listed on their web site as one of the products that botanicare makes, but everybody that sells it says it's by botanicare. The exception is this place CNS17 that says that some dude made it:
Dr. Lynette Morgan is an internationally accomplished hydroponics consultant, researcher and author who recently formulated the Commercial Nutrient System: a professional-grade fertilization program consisting of CSN17 Bloom (2-2-5) & Grow (3-2-4). Each component is highly-concentrated with chelates and the essential elements plants require to reach their full potential. CNS17 Bloom & Grow are suited for any plant, in any medium however they are designed to equalize increased levels of potassium found in some coir-based medium.
I'm guessing some old dude made it and American Agritech, which makes Botanicare bought the rights and say it's theirs. Anyway it sounds like good stuff and I wanted to try some bloom since I just switched schedules but not food. I can't find any in stores around here with the little amount of looking I've done so far. Oh well, maybe that one that's more than an hour drive each way.
The only filters I've been using is a fairly large mesh at the funnel, and a common garden hose filter at my quick connect. My pumps are barely big enough to deliver a good spraying, with 16 nozzles each, veg and bud. And after 3 grows some nozzles are completely clogged. I don't want to take my system apart every grow to clean nozzles. Hell, I might as well go back to DWC. I'm afraid to get the mist I want, I'll have to switch to smaller nozzles, get a triple filtration system, and larger pumps to squeeze the solution through the fine mesh.
The Liquid Karma guys claim that you can use it in hydroponics, and even aeroponics if you use a pump sock. Cha yeah, right. Have they seen the thousands of various size chunks in that stuff? It settles in one minute. I bought pump socks, and I'm sure they will help, but I doubt very much they would keep the nozzles from clogging. No, I think the solution here is to get 100% water soluble nutrients and additives.
Thanks again for the heads up PC.
