    Hello :)

Nice message board. Lots of information and news here.

I'll introduce myself by posting my thoughts on weed.

I've been a regular smoker for about seven years. By regular, I mean every day. I'm cutting back a little bit lately to save money and focus on a few things I need to do, but it's still 1-2 x a week. My life is pretty settled, so heavy pot use doesn't interfere with anything - I'm not job hunting, or in college, or making any big changes or decisions in my life.

I find my pot-smoking friends to be generally easier to get along with, more open-minded, more compassionate and patient, and seem to think more about things that trouble humanity. (And not just when they are high.)

I never encourage kids or college students to smoke pot. They have other things to worry about without getting high or getting arrested. But any adult, if educated properly and with a responsible attitude, can incorporate marijuana use into their lives without harm (other than the legal risk) and not just without harm, but likely with added benefits.

As I've told friends, marijuana has been very cathartic and therapeutic for me emotionally and mentally. I find I can be more honest with myself about many things and can think through problems that I don't ordinarily allow myself to even acknowledge. I am much more loving and patient since I've been a regular pot user.

I've worked in the same field for 15+ years and earn a nice living in a white-collar job. If you met me, you'd think I was a librarian or soccer mom, and not a flaming pothead. (haha :jointsmile I wish I could speak out more publicly about pot without worrying about losing my job or going to jail or both. I am convinced most marijuana users are like me, i.e., normal, productive, responsible people and not scofflaws or lazy miscreants.

If you read this far, then thanks. Nice to meet you! :hippy:

    Hello :)

There. I fixed that for you. Someone immature person probably had a little mischief in response to your beliefs on cannabis being for responsible adults and not a substance that indicates scofflaws or miscreants. I'm guessing it was one of our resident scofflaws or miscreants. Don't let it worry you.

We mods and the boards themselves are in complete agreement with your opinion. Thanks for your good introduction. Welcome to the forum.

I agree with you on this, I experience exact the same thing. My pot-friends are way more open minded than those who totally neglect it.
