    Blue Russians invade flower room

ok, this transformation isnt taking long at all.:wtf:

    ok. so, i need(ed)

1- some kinda media to sprout in
2- a drip system for the main bucket
3- media for the main bucket
4- air pump for main bucket
5- air pump for my new mini cloner gizmo
    6- nutes
7- ph up n down and tester

altho WH has suggested a PPM meter, i cant go for 100 clams rite now.i'll have to rely on PH and following nute directions)

and i still need to test my water to see if ill need RO and calmag.

heres what i found, and what im thinkin.

pic 1 is everything i found.

perlite, vermeculite, polished river rocks, pumps(1 n 2 port),
and this "internal filter" caught my eye too.

pic 2 is the 'extended column' spittin out a plop of water

pic 3 is a close up of the internal pump,
i'll come back to this thing

So Rock, you are really doing it....doin' a hydro grow?!
Well, i am not a hydro guy(not yet),but i think too, that this will be more suitable for you....checkin' the ph and ppm every hour, adjust the solution, spray some crazy new stuff on the plants, etc....as WH said, you will always have something to do...and hopefully not over love your girls...
I think you will make some really nice buds...
That cloner you made for WH is one pretty cool piece, it looks well made...

    so.
    point 1 was sprout media
ok, under a suggestion by MVP, perlite n vermeculite will be used.
i'll do that in lil dixie cups so i can tear it away when its time to go to the bucket. that was about 7 bucks, and something, like rapid rooters($17 at the Hyd shop) was needed anyway.
    saved 10 bucks.

point 2 was drip system for main bucket.
ok, 15 at my hyd shop, but i was anxious,
this internal filter, i noticed, uses the same bubble and clumn principle of the kit from the shop and cost only 10 bucks.
i removed that part and tried extending it. it works.
ill fab up a ring-like thing tonite or tomorow.
i have hoses and stuff, so, this is a winner too.
    saved 5 bucks.

point 3 was media for main bucket.
was gonna get hydroton at the hyd shop for 22 bucks, but now i have the perl and vermec, plus the river rocks to line the bottom so the small stuff doesnt come thru.
rocks were 7 bucks, already have the perl and verm
    saved 15 bucks

point 4 was airpump for main bucket
needed it no matter what, got the 2 port so i can run a bubbler in the bottom of the bucket.
    spent 10, needed it anyways

point 5 was air pump for mini cloner gizmo, using one from the internal filter, included, FREEBIE
    saved 5 bucks

point 6 was nutes, and i still need them. trip to hyd shop tomorow

point 7 was ph up n down n tester, a kit at the same shop tomorow

it looks like i can start sprouting something tonight

i saved a total of 35 bucks which means my spending for the rest is offset by 1/2.

not too bad i guess, aye?

hey Zeb, yeah, im gonna give it a try.
im pretty handy as has been demonstrated, and thanks for the kudos on the cloner. i used the model by MVP to fashion it from and tweaked it here n there as i saw fit. WH wanted a 12 site unit, and what WH wants, WH gets,LOL

i tested my mini cloner and it rocks.
i think ill be able to use a different top and use it as a rapid rooter-bubbler too. the mind is always going, if you listen closely, you can hear the wheels spinning

im tending to agree with WH in a big way, she's gotten to know me pretty well. so, ill try 1, and see how it goes.

like ive said, if i cant get better yield, this is a waste of time.
its all about return on investment, time and money....
not to mention my sanity, or whats left of it.

so, for less than a 100 buck expense, sure ill try it. i have everything else,,,,or,,,,i think i do.:wtf:

Good stuff bro, glad to see you are taking the Plunge.... pun intended... anyhow, I use hydroton and it works for me but you have to 'season' it, :wtf: kinda like oldtimers seasoned their frying pans. Once broken in you will not get PH fluctuations and all is good. Hound has issues with HT, but they can be conquered without too much stress (on the grower, that is...)

Welcome to the dark side, your yields are about to triple....

Except basic rules still apply......you are NOT going to get a good yield messing around with these plants the way you love to do so much. If we are going down the same route here only in water you are on your own if you can't keep your hands off them.....fair warning :wtf:

i been running pretty manic today with all the goings on, but its been a really happy day

i will get the hydroton tomorrow with the other things.
and yes, WH said i would need to soak it, and yes, i also have real iron skillets, i get the seasoning analogy:thumbsup:

no matter what, i needed something to germinate in anyways.
this stuff is pretty amazing once it gets wet, it actually stuck together like a sandcastle when i plopped it out into my hand.
    i mixed it 50-50 verm-perl

umm, i guess i need to start a new thread:wtf:

    and,,,,yes, got it mom

ok, and then this mornin as i'm reachin for the clipboard to make a few notes, what do my bleary eyes see????

if i recall correctly, mom used to say these lil ladies are good luck and actually eat the bad bugs i believe.

well, i carefully put her in the grow room on one of Galina's lower leaves. my only worry is if she winds up stuck to the fly ribbon i have hanging in there, that would suck.:wtf:
it was kinda funny watchin her scurry across the paper when i poked her in the butt with an old shriveld leaf
