Bubbler for Dirty Soil People!!!
How to keep the right moisture? Keep a good level of humidity in your dome? I have done this with a small 8-site and a much larger 24-site. All you need is basic aquarium equipment and a few tools. Heres the 8-site bubbler....

hrm? are you trying to combine hydro and soil in one?
if so, its kinda useles. in hydro, you want roots in the water, not in soil pots

Bubbler for Dirty Soil People!!!
Reasoning behind this:
Roots grow towards the moisture, I get this logic from landscaping. You dont water many times, you water once and completely soak it, roots have a memory. my neighbor is a landscape architecht and master gardener, when he waters his lawn I do the same thing, in the SE USA we get scorching heat and he waters MAYBE once a week. But when he does- it is a full on assaulting soak!!
In other words you want the water to penetrate deeply into the soil, not just mist the top. So, if you have the chance to water from the bottom, why not give it a try.
This is why I use the peat pots with soil in the bubbler, the roots are searching downward looking for the moisture. Sorry for the ramble, but the logic is there.... I just might not be able to put it to words!!

Any pix available of the unit in use? (with new clones at beginning of cycle, during rooting, and near transplant)
What time cycles do you use to run the bubbler, or do you just turn it on manually? Any humidity hood?
(it's the little things that count, lol)

I built it, I also have one that is 24-site. The great thing about my bubbler is I got the tubs and lids from the Dollar Tree, so to answer a previous question, yes it has a nice tight humidity dome! Go in there with a limit you will allow yourself to spend (like Vegas), you will be picking stuff up you never thought you had a use for!!
So far the lttle bubbler is working great!! Put some bag seeds in a few days ago and they are now 2 inches tall!!
Will post pics soon

Bubbler for Dirty Soil People!!!
i had some of those pots last year
i belive it works because as the roots are searching for moisture
they grow through the peat pots and into the water in the bottom
it basicly just a hydro but using soil insted of pebbles right?
i grew a mint plant on my window like this but without the airstone or heater
just in still water an it trippled its normal growth rate in one week

In under a week, my bagseeds have germed, popped out of the soil AND the roots have grown thru the jiffy pots and into the water of my bubble dome!! Here are some pics:
Pic 1 - Roots of the bagseeds
Pic 2 - Using the same build for a 8-site cloner, only difference there are peat plugs IN the peat pots
Pic 3 - the little ladies (hopefully) growin

Maybe you could try to develop a bog-friendly strain of cannabis....I can't think of why you would, but if given the space and time I'd do it just to see the results. I love to experiment with cannabis and test its boundaries.
