It's Happening Again!
So I'm in my second grow now and my plants are two weeks into flowering as of today. I've been feeding 1/2 grow and 1/2 flower nutes for the first two weeks and my big fan leaves on the bottom are starting to turn yellow again and shrivel up, same as last time!
I thought it only did that last time because I fed 100% bloom nutes right when I switched to flower, so I am clueless as to what could be causing it this time around.
I just switched to 3/4 bloom and 1/4 grow nutes last night. I'm also using Hygrozyme, Liquid Karma, CalMag+ and Sweet Berry. My PPM is around 900 and my pH was pretty high because I was gone for 3 days, but it was 5.6-5.9 through the day yesterday.
What am I missing here? I don't want a repeat of my first grow where I only yield two plants because the rest die! Help!dejayou30 Reviewed by dejayou30 on . It's Happening Again! I have two thoughts Deja.....usually my ppms are up pretty high by the time I'm two weeks into flower......about 1100-1150 including supplements. The firs 1000ppm is definitely my CalMag/Pro Bloom mix.
The ph being up could cause some locking out as well. But I'd also give some thought to flushing your system for 24 hours or so with something like FloraKleen or Clearex. I've had it help alot of my issues which ended up being caused by fert build-up in the my medium.
Any photos by chance?

first of all: i have limited experience in growing. do not blindly listen to my advice...
id think that youd want to stop using grow nutes, since it is in bloom now, and you may be giving too much nitrogen for flowering, especially since there may be some left in the medium still

Well my plan was to go to 100% bloom but since the leaves are turning yellow I figured it was a Nitrogen deficiency so I thought I would add a little just in case. My bloom has 2.5 and my grow has 3 so its really not that much difference in the Nitrogen content. I will try raising the PPM a tad with bloom nutes and CalMag+ and just monitor it over the next day or two. I really don't want to flush because its such a pain and I just changed the res yesterday, but I guess I will have to if the problem doesn't turn around.

you want to discontinue your Grow-type nutes a week before switching to 'Bloom' light-cycle ... nitrogen interferes with flowering, but still needs a trace, that's why Bloom nutes still have a little nitrogen in them ... I would suggest your fanleaves are yellowing from too frequent cycles, mine greened right back up, after cutting my pumps way back ... I now run DWC 'on' 15 minutes every 3 hours, shouldn't be much different for your style, my guess

I don't know......I run mine 24/7.....mines a drip system. What kind of deal are you running again Deja?
Also.....per my hydro guy...(who is god :jointsmilelikes to run the grow nutes up to two weeks into flowering due to the burst of growth they go through after the initial turn. I follow about what Deja does......grow nutes the first week of 12/12 then shift over a few days to end up on bloom nutes by the end of the second week.
Deja.....if your plants are missing nitrogen.....and you are using your normal ferts plus Cal Mag......you either aren't giving enough or it;s not reaching your plants somehow. I have a feeling it's the second one because Botanicare is not skimpy with their nutes but I'm not positive because I don't know the breakdown of your nute numbers.
If it's there but not reaching the plant I can only think of two reasons......ph off causing lockout or fert buildup in your medium that's causing the same thing by blocking the roots access to the correct nutes and/or causing chemical reactions (too much salinity in your medium can lock out nutes and so can too much of one nute.....block out another's absorbtion) that are messing your plants up.

nitrogen overdose can appear very similar to an underdose. lay off the ferts for a few days and consider flushing the soil to see what happens.
