The warmth is important. Just be sure that it is quite far away until the seed breaks surface, or risk drying out the soil.
I keep seedlings on 24h of light to keep temps stable.

I read somewhere that 24 hrs of light encourages males, whaddya think?

Do any of you throw a light on after sowing your seeds? If it's done just for heat then that doesn't matter im just curious about the light part of it. Rating: 5

I haven't seen an issue with m/f ratios. I think to get to the point where you would notice a difference, your sample size would have to be huge- like, a hundred plants at a time to see anything statistically significant.

I keep light on my seedlings 24 hrs and I have always had a greater than 50% female.
