My experience was 4 people in a small one room, one bed, plus a bathroom, style, motel room. We had 3 bowls and used no spraying or ventilation. The volume of the room was such that 30 minutes and 2 cigarette smokers each having a cig later, no weed smell was detectable. We were also very loud and were called twice and warned to be quiet, but otherwise had no ill consequences. Provided you have either a smoking room or a room with a private outside area like a balcony to smoke (go for the highest floor of the building), I'd be worried about a large hotel room party primarily because of volume. A candle, airspray, or a few cigarettes is all that is necessary to mask 16 people's weed smoke in a sufficiently spacious suite, but the walls are still typically paper thin and you may be in trouble, at least in terms of paranoia, if someone from staff comes to your room and requests you keep it down. Avoid rooms which have doors connecting to adjacent rooms unless you are also renting the adjacent room, because door seepage is your primary smell related problem.
