Everybody has cannabinoid receptors. We have them all over and our bodies produce our own natural endocannabinoids that they respond to.

The more I read about G proteins and CB1 and CB2 receptors, the more I believe that while they're naturally designed to respond to our endocannabinoids, not all receptors respond to exo-cannabinoids (cannabinoids from external sources like smoked or eaten or vaped weed) in the same way. I was slow to respond when I first smoked, and I've seen that same experience related here plenty of times. I'm sure that just as there are people who easily get completely baked on two hits, there are also people who wouldn't get high if they smoked the weed equivalent of a full pack of unfiltered cigarettes. I think those who're that resistant are the exception rather than the rule, but I do think they exist.

My condolences to your cousin, MasterKief. I hope he'll keep trying a few more times. It took me about 7 exposures before I felt it. A less tenacious girl would have given up, but I was determined. Maybe with a few more tries, he'll feel it, too. If you've been smoking with him until now, maybe you can finagle a way he can try eating it instead and see if he can get some results that way.
