Just do the sub method. They never watch unles you give them a reason to or are under court supervision.
Just make sure you practice and get the temp right.

I already have my replacement product, but my big question is: Do they watch? I am paying for this test myself and will ultimately release the results to the people that really care about the results once all is said and done.
