I am making my MMJ appt!

Alright, so I've finally got the money together to go see a MD about a MMJ license. For those who might be afraid I'm just doing this to abuse the system, I'm getting it for degenerative disc disease, sciatica and anxiety induced insomnia. It especially helps with the nerve related pain.

So, what should I expect at the office? Is there anything specific I should bring? I've got copies of my medical records as far as they are relevant to the MMJ (the above-mentioned issues).

Oh, will a passport be suitable identification? I would imagine so, as it IS a passport. It's my only current form of ID other than an out of state DL (I just moved to CA a few months ago).

Any doctor recommendations in the Sacramento area?

    Thank you!

You've got what you need- a real ailment, proof of it and the cash! It goes pretty much like a regular appointment for a check up. You fill out a form, get weighed and measured, talk with the doctor, pay the doctor, get handed a piece of paper, and go home "California legal". That simple!

NORML has a list of cannabis friendly doctors, but in reality ANY medical doctor can give you a RECOMMENDATION (it's NOT a prescription). You do not need a card- the law says all you need is your letter from the doctor. However, dispensaries often will require a card. If you decide against one (I have, I live in a corrupt little corner of the state) and wish to visit a dispensary, do it during the doctor's hours so you can be verified.

You can grow too! 6 mature OR 12 immature plants- but do you trust the cops to know the difference? I'd keep it at 6 plants, period! What you can get away with depends a lot on where you are living. Here, I keep my head low!

And you might enjoy treatingyourself.com , a nice little MEDICAL site in Canada. Really good people there and they've all "been around the block". TY is my first stop each morning, C.com is a close #2 (what can I say guys, I'm a medical user!) Cannabis News gets the 3rd slot. OK, OK, so I'm obsessive! lol

You also might be interested in clicking the link in my sig. Lots of interesting medical studies.

And wait until you have that first "legal" joint! You won't believe how high you can get when you are no longer paranoid! Enjoy- Granny:hippy:

    No California ID required? Cool!
Here in Oregon, you need a local address and Oregon ID.

TY Rocks! I start at oregongreenfree.com (a site for Oregon MMJ patients) then here, then TY.

You can also check the ASA website - ASA.:.Advancing Legal Medical Marijuana Therapeutics and Research - for more info. They have a great Legal section and all sorts of info on MMJ.

If you can afford to join (I think $35 annually) it is a great cause since they organize legal response and other important MMJ initiatives. I am a member and receive their weekly newsletters to keep informed on my rights and what is happening at a state and federal level.
