us nationalsYou'll get 10,000 different answers to that one.

 For me, it sucks.
I see this once great nation being torn down brick by brick, and sold for scrap. And nobody seems to care.
Our rights are disappearing every day, and we do nothing about it.
More people voted for the last American Idol, than the last president.
 We're pathetic.:wtf:
 A good friend once said...
Maybe if this really was the home of the brave, it might once again be the land of the free.

us nationalsI think of being an American as having choices and rights that are limited or non-existent in other places. While we are a very young nation compared to Europe, we are more self-reliant as individuals. We do not have as mature an attitude regarding sexuality as Europeans. There is a vast wealth of art and culture in America, but citizens are not generally as appreciative of it as Europeans are of theirs. Originally Posted by jammin26 Originally Posted by jammin26

us nationalswere all rednecks and jesus freaks and nobody likes us. But we're rich and powerful so everybody likes us. Were rich and powerful because we are jesus freaks and rednecks. Since we are a fairly diverse country, the american zietgiest of any era is reflective of the sentiments of mankinds lower class. I think you can learn a lot about how mankind in general deals with power and prosperity by looking at what America does, be it in the war in iraq or in its drug policies.

us nationalsI okay with being a 'merican.

It's a nice country, with generally good people, nice scenery, but some of the stuff the government carries out in our name is ridiculous...

I really like Europe; the UK seemed cool, as did Spain and Germany. I'm not a Francophobic, racist, gun-totin', rabble-rousin', overweight Jesus-Freak, though you may find some here.

us nationalsI think in a lot of ways some of the other developed nations enjoy more freedom than us. Ours are slowly being eroded away and the drones of our society don't seem to care. Take Canada for instance. Listen to canadian radio or tv and you'll see they don't have a government entity as oppresive as the FCC. You can see or hear just about anything on regular canadian broadcasts.
