Just because you saw the GC/MS written on the chain of custody form doesn't mean it is going straight to GC/MS. There was a time when GC/MS wasn't always performed and the codes to show that GC/MS was to be used to confirm non-negative immunoassay results would be written like SAP 5/50 GC/MS meaning 5 drugs of abuse using the 50 ng/ml cutoff for THC and GC/MS to confirm results. Those codes are like a riddle wrapped in a mystery hidden in an enigma and can confuse even the collectors. I'm telling you that the immunoassay is understood to be performed as this is how they make their money because immunoassay even when performed by lab equipment is much cheaper than GC/MS so they only use the GC/MS when there is a non negative.

Look at it this way, how much urine did they collect? I'm guessing at least 30 cc if not 45. 15cc for immunoassay, 15cc for a possible GC/MS, and if it was a split sample then 15cc in case you want to dispute the results with another lab performing the test at your cost.
