There was so, so much to the world you'd almost forget it was real. The rich history, intricate clans and houses and libraries. The ancient history of the dwarves, how they disappeared (as found out in the nearly impossible mages guild quest). And the ancient robotic technology; now that's just cool.

I still remember finding the helm of Clavicus Vile for the first time, undoubtedly the bets helm in the game.
I never did the mages guild quests, but I did use the soul-trap spell way of jacking up my stats far, far beyond what they should have been, and using alchemy to take advantage of the scamp that had 5000 gold that regenerated every day.
