Do you still have friends from your younger days?

I graduated high school 5 years ago and I've kept 5 good friends since then that I still hang out with.

Obviously I've made new friends at college, work and social events but my childhood friends have gone their own way.

I knew this one guy. We've been friends since we were 6. We were like brothers by the time we were 13. By the time we were 15 he started to hang out with his cousins and I basically only got to see him in school. After high school he spent one semester at the college I went to before he dropped out. I haven't heard anything from him since then. That was 4 and a half years ago.

Man I hate how things changed between me and him.

I've got a group of a few friends that I've known since early grade school, one of them even since preschool. My best friend in the world I've known since 2nd grade is moving down to Missouri next week to go to school. I'm gonna be bummed when he goes, he's almost like a brother to me we hang out all the time.

Ha ha only 10 spelling errors. It's all good, I know what you mean. School is meant to teach you how to do the work that you're given, not necessarily be relevant to everything.

I graduated high school 30 years ago and still have two close friends from those days. One I've actually known since I was about 18 months old and our parents used to walk together while taking us out in our strollers. We were childhood playmates who grew into adult playmates. The other I've known since I was 14, which is 32 years. I have a few other acquaintances who were school colleagues that I keep up with through my parents, who socialize with their parents. Those are mostly "hearsay" acquaintances instead of friends.

From high school, no, I hated HS. I got kicked out after the 2nd semester after they realized suspensions were giving me more pleasure than harm.

But, I did graduate 2 years ago finally, and no, I don't keep in touch with any of my classmates. It's too bad really because we had a lot of fun. It was HS work, but at age 23 at a college, with a bar, it seemed more like a vacation than work.

My junior high buddies though I keep in touch with one. I still saw other friends from back then, but I never really called them, but this 1 guy I have known since I was about 11. He's a good guy, but he has some problems and our differences kind of clash now, so we talk, not really hang out.

So to answer the question, I guess not really. Too bad really, but when you change your life for the better, friends are one of the first things to go.

I occasionally bump into a few friends from school but now all my current friends have been met since leaving school, my oldest friend I have had for about 20 years or so.
