Do you still have friends from your younger days?
I have seen first hand how dificult it can be for anyone close to me to accept the fallout of my choices , no mother wants to see thier son all smashed up after his 20th motorcycle crash , what she didn't know couldn't hurt her.

I have to live with my choices as everyone does however I can say I have no regrets , how many people can say the same ?
My family learned to accept that I am an adrenaline freak and my friends all know me well enough to know I'm not ready to compromise just yet.

thats all well and good but it depends on how someone seperates away from another person, if someone you think is a friend disappears after texting and asking to sleep on your sofa, you hear nothing from them they don't call, text or explain, that causes upset cofusion and shows absolutely no respect. that is most deffinately selfish, but if someone explains things and doesn't confuse things by leaving loose ends, then no i wouldn't say its selfish.
