Anybody use these? You like? I got the adapter to go from the big mogul base to the medium socket..hopefully it will work just fine...
Any suggestions.??
We found the 100 watt 6500k Fluorex bulbs at home depot got them all hooked up and hten realized they are not self ballasted..Got on the horn immediately and light bulb emporium claims that these are....Fingers crossed!!

Never used one...hope it works for you. But a caution; CFLs, unlike HPS and MH, don't gain in efficiency as you get larger bulbs. That bulb is listed as a 12,000 lumen bulbā??the 23 watt Wal-Mart 4 packs are 1650 lumens each. 8 of them will produce 10% more light (13,200 luemns) using 8% less energy (184 watts). I also bet they're a lot cheaper...2 four packs from Wally's will set you back less than $15.
It's a lot nicer to have all your light from a single source, and you get ease of installation of fewer cords...but big bulb = more heat issues too, since there's less bulb surface area for heat dissipation. Just a couple of thoughts.

200 watt CFL - Anyone use these?
Unfortunately i don't have access to a wallys..the best deal i could find was 42 watters @ 2700k for lilke $10.99...Or Light bulb emporium had some other ones that were good too..we just figured itd be nice to have one big bulb and then 3 or 4 smaller cfls to place accordingly..the ones i already have plus 8 more would be a bit impossible for the space we have...how bad do you think the head issue will be?????? You think this bulb would be just as hot as HID setup???
Thanks so much!! :stoned:

I use it in a micro grow with excellent results..however at first I had some heat issues because of the size..
The bulb i bought was 44.99 online somewhere (don't remember, sorry)..back to the heat.. I tried multiple scenarios with 3 computer fans I have..I found having two exhaust behind the socket part with one intake on the opposite end of the cab achieved the best results.. I now average 72-79 degree temps with the lights on..
I also found the cab works better by putting it in a room with a lower ambient temp (68*-72*) ...it was just too hot in my living room where the heat cranks..
Heres a 125watt similar that produced great results... (albeit he did not have much of a cooling system or even a thermometer!)
