I start my seeds in soil (the easiest and safest way), after good growth is going, go to flower mode and watch very carefully. All males are destroyed immediately and revert the rest to veg. A couple of the best females are kept in soil as mothers. I take cuttings from mothers and grow these so I can be sure I don't waste time growing males.
Hydro will grow faster and yield more than soil, and I think it's much easier and safer in the long run.

Here's what happened to me, a nice unassuming compost grower, when I got my hands wet. haha.
It's a pretty darn simple system though if you want to have a gander at a really noob-friendly setup.

By buing seeds from a reputable dealer like Marijuana Seeds (cannabis, pot) shipped worldwide
I've only been growing about 5 or 6 years, but I've never planted bagseed, and never had a seed fail to pop.

im using bagseed its not as good as you they could be when you buy them but i know that when i plant straight into dirt they dont always come up not all of them...germinating has worked wonders with me...ive germinated sooo many this time that i had to give them away...sold a few plants when they've gotten like 6-10 inches for 5$ a pop...so im not worried

'Germinating' means simply popping the seed.
Germination rates depend on the condition of the seeds themselves, and assuming correct temperature, it does not affect germ rate to do it in a paper towel , cup of shallow water, or soil.
Your SURVIVAL rate depends on handling of the tiny sprout after the seed has cracked open [germed].
