Nitrogen difference in 12 hours?
I don't think so, at least as far as I could tell from reading about and comparing pictures of plant problems. Not 100% sure though since I'm not really used to diagnosing plant problems.

I believe what I was mistaking for nute burn was actually a nitrogen deficiency. Everything I read is that one symptom is light colored leaves. Another is leave tips and edges yellowing and dying, which is also one symptom of nutrient overload. Another symptom is slow growth, which I definitely was beginning to wonder about lately.
