Experienced growers I need some help badly!!!

Let me first admit this is my first time growing and I'm winging it for the most part after reading as much as I could find online. So my seeds (N. lights x skunk) were planted after germination back on Oct. 23. After seeing very little progress I added more light about a week ago. My lights now are two 23W and two 42W fluorescents. I know my plants should be much, much larger than their current size. The plants are growing much quicker now, but a few problems are arising. Leaves are yellowing and curling at the tips, the plants seem to be growing too tall too fast, and the stems are bright red. I added a couple pics to better illustrate. Please tell me what you think. pH? More light? Watering? Pests?

Oh my look! Here's a link to the thread just ABOVE you.....the one that tells you how to get some proper help for your plants instead of just asking people to guess without having any information about your grow.

or you can just add more lights.....which I don't think is your problem to begin with.

    Good luck.

Then go here for (hopefully ) the answer to your problems. Or if you DO provide us with more info...perhaps someone here can help you from a little better perspective.

MUCH more light. More CFLs is a start.
Is that Miracle Gro? Peat based soils start to get pH problems after 2-3 months from first wetting.
Were those pots new? I see salty crust on them. One thing about terra cotta, if you have overfert, you KNOW it lol.

Go get a pH test kit (the liquid indicator is best bang for your buck I promise) and do a test on the runoff water from a heavy watering. It should be 6.5-6.8 but I bet it is lower.

You're going to need to flush the soil to remove excess salts and fix any pH issues you have. pH up/down from the grow shop is more predictable than anything you have laying around your house.

    Plus the light.

Finally, what is the temperature in there? 65-80 is the range you want.

more light, closer to the plants. they can safely be within about 2-4 inches of cfls no problems.

however, 4cfls isnt gonna cause problems at this point in growth. (i ran 10 seedlings under 4 cfls, they lived -turned out badly stretched tho-ive learned)

Guess someone didn't read the subject... :weedpoke:
And by the way, you are wrong. That is most definitely NOT enough light for that space.

Ok, ph tests show it to be right at 7 so I'm guessing that's not the problem. The pots are painted, there's no salty-crust on them. The plants are looking pretty bad now. Yellowing, browing, and shriveling. Can lack of light really do this to the plants? Or is it something else?

Have you been feeding them yet? Is that soil pre-fertilized?
    More light
    Proper ferts
That 7 number is RUNOFF pH or WATER ph?
