    New growth curl?

I just got this plant from a friends friend about two days ago. It looks like a reveg to me seeing it has crystals all over it with some resin sacks also and of course all the weird leaves. I have it under 4 27w daylight cfls 24/7 along with a sour d clone and all the new growth seems to be curling under. The clone looks like it is going to do the same. They were bone dry when I got them so I watered with some natural spring water. Whats up with the under curl?? They seem to be growing fast.

    New growth curl?

How do I check the ph of the soil without watering again? I just watered a few days ago. How can I tell if its overferted? Im new to indoor growing and usually never have problems with the great outdoors.

Over watering and under watering often look the same. You recently received these plants from a friend? They can go through an adjustment in the environment change. They seem to be growing at an angle try using a chop stick or small stake to straighten it up.

It's probably a good idea to flush now because you don't know what the previous owner was feeding the plant.

Check the runoff pH and then flush with water adjusted to compensate for any problems. Tap water is fine.

The final part of the flush should be a weak solution of a complete grow fert with micros, at 1/4 of what the bottle recommends.

Drill extra holes in the sides of the pot if you are concerned that the plant is not using water fast enough to dry the soil properly between waterings. This will increase oxygen to the root zone and plant health WILL improve.

    New growth curl?

Thanks for all the advice, Its growing at an angle because I bent it over so I could clone all the top shoots. I planned on getting clones and my cab just doesnt have the height to stand it up straight. Once I get it growing right I plan on cloning it and making some bonsai moms. I just checked the ph of the soil and its between 6-6.5. Im using spring water because I have sulphur well water. I havent flushed yet. Should I use the same spring water to flush with?

Spring water from what source? Is it bottled mineral drinking water? That's likely to have added minerals for flavor, and can interfere with your feeding. Use distilled or RO water with added calmag, and bring your pH up to 6.5-6.8.
