Even Turner's ex-wife, Tina, has gone on record admitting that the absusive scenes in the movie were exaggerated, but the first thing most people think of when they hear Ike's name is "wife-beater". When Ike was in jail for drugs, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in the early 1990's, Tina showed up on his behalf. They had been divorced for over a decade, but she knew who made her an international star.
