HEAVY YIELDING!! technique can it work?

This may sound crazy and far fetched, you all may say this is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. However I plan on running a experiment in which I use a hps on the top and bottom of the grow room.I have hunch by placing a hps light laying face upbase of the plants(bulb facing the sky/ceiling) that the light should be able to penatrate the lower and middle branches of the plant.

I wish I knew how to post pics on here so I could show you my experiment.Try to visualize 10 plants 5 on each side in a oval formation, the light would be place in the middle of the oval facing up, you would rotate the plants every 2 days so each side recieves equal amounts of light.

This technique could make the bottom branches just as big as the tops in my view. However nly time will tell. Thanks for listening to my hypothesis.Feel free to add thought, views, comments, or call me a dumbas$

I believe your technique makes sense, and variations have certainly been tried I'm sure.

I have seen grow 'cylinders' that basically take that idea to the extreme and rotate constantly around 1 light. Im sure those systems cost atleast 5 grand though.

Log your grow and let us know if it works well!

You would most likely get a better result if you use your extra light as side-lighting. You can place it in the middle of your group of plants and if you want to, you can even rotate your plants every day (or few days) so that each side of the plant gets a chance at the side-lighting.

This does indeed increase yields, as any increased lumen output will give extra energy to the plants. I would be careful about lighting them from the bottom as the bottoms of the leaves are not designed to receive light and it can damage them if you supply too much.

Omega garden, 5g's USED is a good deal on one. I think they run upwards of 8k. They don't give under-leaf lighting though.

Plants are phototropic and want to grow towards a single directional light source. They are designed to photosynthesize on top of the leaf and transpire through the bottom. Under the plant putting that much heat will dry them out VERY fast and be VERY stressful. Put the second HPS OVER the plant and if you want die lighting, go with tube flouros so that the PRIMARY light is above the plant.

Thanks a lot for the input. So it would probably be best to have the light in a vertical position facing upwards/standing,in the center of the cannopy.Or I could do side lighting as well that seems pretty swett as well.Yall no everything here, feels good to gain knowledge.
