To all the women out there...

How do you ladies keep your weight down or your self esteem up??? Ever since I started smoking I have noticed that I have gained some weight... It's definately because of the munchies and all of the good holiday food that is around. I'm not overweight or anything I just wish that I would not keep gaining weight it really kills my self esteem. What should I do???

Get over it. Your obsession with your weight should have nothing to do with your self-esteem. You should love your body, not your weight. It's just a number, and if it really bugs you that much, get on a treadmil.

Self-esteem is all about the inner beauty, not the outer, separate the two.

I lift weights 3 times a week and take my dog on lots of walks everyday. I always gain weight around the holidays though. I dont have the self control I need around cookies and eggnog and all the other seasonal junk food. If you dont have the time to exercise I'd just try really hard to eat healthier things when you're high. Keep a bag of baby carrots in the house instead of chips. Drink water instead of soda. It's not fun, but neither is feeling bad about yourself. I also think its really fun to take a walk while you're high and its snowing outside. Night time walks while you're high in general is amazing.

This is so true. I toke a little when I get home in the afternoon, then take a long walk. There are no munchies and it's easier to walk longer at a faster pace because you're busy taking in the scenery.

But things went a bit wonky. Couldn't get on! So here it is- rewritten.

Dump the junk food! The closer you stick with Mama Nature, the better off you'll be! Figure the actual price per pound- potato chips are more costly than fillet mignon! Think as you shop! If you don't have it in the house, it is hard to eat it! Avoid white foods! White rice, white flour, white bread, etc. Eat more raw and whole foods.

I make a dip from yogurt, parmesian or blue cheese, a spoonful of mayo and some herbs (it is nice to toast THAT herb in a dry frying pan and then use a full fat yogurt ) add some carrot and celery sticks, maybe some raw mushrooms, broccoli, cauliflower, heck, most raw veggies, and "pig out"- it's good for you! When you are stoned, veggies are delicious!

Go for walks, especially when it is cold. You burn a lot of calories. Even 10 to 15 minutes a day makes a difference over a year!

Make soups! They are mostly water...coming in at zero calories! Nice and warming after one of those walks. They are also a great way to get rid of left-overs.

In summer, make salads and thin that veggie dip to make a low calorie salad dressing. Raw is good! I'm having a shrimp salad for dinner tonight. I don't care if it is winter! I like shrimp salad!

Incidentally- I've lost 65 pounds so far. About 40 to go! - Granny:hippy:

Keep a lid on the munchies. Eat fruits and veggies if you are hungry. Don't skip meals. Don't eat junk.

    Also, I take supplements:
    green tea
    5-HTP
    DLPA
    whole food multivitamin w/ herbs
    coQ10
    lecithin
    relora
    etc etc

CLA is also good (but I don't take it) and there are other SAFE, herbal diet supplements one can take. Just stay away from this big-name diet pills, they're complete crap for your health.

The most important things are, and always will be, diet and exercise.

I have to balance out the consequences of my time with the munchies with time working my arse off at the gym. I'll probably never be waif thin because of my occasional evening and weekend activities  but I can live with this balance.
